Hi, this is my very first journal entry.

Just bought a Nikon D300 DSLR camera from eBay. The previous owner was a Photographer who did web and other commercial photography for a living. I purchased the camera at reasonably good price, considering it is about 18 months old and that it has 30,0000+ actuations on it. I also purchased a second hand Nikon 18-70mm F3.5-4.5G at a third of the retail price.

The camera was bought mainly to take pictures of my baby boy, who at present is still nice and snug inside its Mummy. I was going to buy a cheaper Nikon camera, but after some exhausted research I decided to buy the sem-professional D300. The main reason was that it would give sharper images, and yet not quite as good as its older brother the D700 in low light conditions, it would not break the bank completely. People at work recommended that I get a camera, as they said I would regret it if I did not; as those precious moments can be cherished rather than forgotten, especially those early baby pictures which can never be taken again.

I will be taking many pictures over the next few years, not only for the baby's sake but also to develop my photographic hobby. My wife and I will be travelling all over the world, so stay tuned for some great photos from across the globe.

Cannot wait for the baby to be born, only another 2 weeks or so left...
